About Timmy
Timmy joined the Mischief Hams with Bump. We'd taken Dusty and Scruff but left Timmy and Bump behind and Dusty quickly showed us that we'd made a bad decision. We reunited the foursome 24 hours later and they were thrilled to be reunited. Timmy was always the quieter, more submissive group member. She was everyone's friend, too submissive to be a threat she really did get along with everyone.
The group reached their first birthday together, but Dusty and Scruff had always squabbled sometimes and the two eventually caused the group to split. When faced with decisions, we paired Timmy with Bump, believing the two would be friends for the rest of their lives. We were right.
Eventually Timmy developed a suspected hormonal condition and started to lose fur. Neither she nor Bump minded so we watched and were pleased to see it didn't get any worse. In November 2012 we brought a pregnant foster hybrid into the flat and Timmy and Bump started to have the odd squabble. We knew it might be Timmy's condition progressing, but with no external signs we hoped it was just the disturbance of having pups so close. The pair did seem to settle again as the pups got older, but unfortunately one night at feeding time we knew Timmy was seriously unwell. We took her out and quickly confirmed that she was dying. We separated that night, Timmy held on through the night so we took her to the vet the next morning where she got the peace she needed.
Bump was left without her cagemate and really did miss her. Bump loved her to the end, and we'll always remember her as she was - everyone's friend.
