About Skip
Skip was a rescue hamster and joint-second to join the Mischief Hams. We were told he was approximately 6 months old when we got him, but it turned out he was actually at least a year older. When we realised we changed his estimated date of birth by a year to reflect that.
Skip was the happiest hamster anyone could ever have known, when we got him he was quite nervous but clearly curious. Over time his confidence came on in leaps and bounds, he got cage upgrades, demolished bonios, learnt to beg for treats and became a ham we loved to interact with every day of the week.
Skip came to us with a wonky tail and a lump on a back leg, we suspect he had an accident and broke both the leg and the tail before we knew him. Over time he started to lose fur, eventually becoming about 75% bald. He also developed a large cyst on his chest, then became almost completely blind and deaf. None of this affected him at all - he stayed an incredibly happy lad right up to the end. He used every single centimetre of his cage and was either asleep or happy. He was a living reminder to live life to the full.
Skip was an amazing hamster and helped a lot of others, he made people smile, he proved that disabled hams can be happy, and he did his best to inspire people to live life to the full and enjoy everything they can in it.
Rest well Skip, the hamster who was so happy that he was "happy" as much as he was "hamster"
